Is it possible to lose weight and gain muscles? This is the question that most people have asked and keep asking.
This is because these people have tried to lose weight and gain muscles at the same time but failed. They failed because they were misguided. Some have ended up developing complications which they have had to live with.
Now to avoid that happening to you, I put together six important guidelines on how you can lose weight and put on muscles at the same time in a healthy manner.

1.     Keep physically fit
Physical fitness is a sign of a healthy person. Any effective weight loss program or a program aimed at gaining muscles must ensure physical fitness. You can keep physically fit by doing light exercises and in the case where you intend to gain muscles, you can do heavier work outs. This ensures that you lose weight as you gain muscles.

2.     Stay hydrated
Water is very important in the life of a person; you can go without food for seven days but you cannot go without water for more than 3 days.
In the course of exercising, you will end up losing a lot of water. You have to counter this by taking water as often as possible. This ensures that your process of muscle work out is not hampered and hence effective in gaining muscles to match the stretch.

3.     Lift weights
Whenever you lift weights, the muscles work harder and when you rest, they grow to replace themselves. This becomes a very effective way of losing weight as to gain muscles. As the muscles work harder, they burn the calories and when they replace, they grow, now you know, do this more often.

4.     Eat Fat burning foods
Fat burning foods are the foods aid in breaking down the fats in the body. Among the best ways to gain muscles in a healthy way is ensuring that you get the best diet.
The best diet in this case includes: Eating regularly and eating fat burning foods which helps to reduce further deposition of fats by raising your metabolism level.
 Some of the common fat burning foods are citrus fruits, oats, Lentils, eggs, poultry, salmon fish, Almonds and Walnuts.
But remember to eat after workouts.

5.     Eat enough
Before you decide to gain muscles, you must understand that muscles require food to be built. This is therefore the reason as to why you have to maintain body building foods in your diet i.e. proteins.
Another important point towards gaining muscles in a healthy way is eating regularly every time you have exercises.

6.      Do intense Cardiovascular workouts
Losing weight and gaining muscles also involves doing intense cardiovascular workouts at least three to four times a week. This ensures that calories are burnt up. This is how it happens; during the workouts, the metabolic rate is increased facilitating burning of calories. During the same time, the muscles stretch or work out more.
